Who is Pau Cubarsi?
Cubarsi was born in a small village in Girona and start his career in the youth ranks of Girona FC. FC Barcelona, the Catalan house, quickly discovered Cubarsí's talent and included him in La Masia youth academy, in 2018.
After his development in the La Masia, he became the 3rd youngest player at Barça to make his debut in the UEFA Youth League, after Lamine Yamal and Ilaix Moriba, when he started in an eventual 1-1 draw against the Czech team Viktoria Plzeň.
In April 2023, at just 16 years old, he trained with the first team for the first time with Xavi Hernandez. In July 2023, he signed his first professional contract, committing him to the club until mid-2026. Throughout the 2023/24 season, he regularly trained with the first team. On January 18, 2024, he made his official debut in the Copa del Rey for the club, playing 45 minutes in a match against Unionistas de Salamanca CF, replacing Andreas Christensen at halftime.
At the moment of his substitute appearance against Unionistas, Cubarsi showed the world of his talent. He was very calm and confident on the ball and show all how can he defend for Barca colors.
In January 21, 2023, a day before his 17th birthday, he made his debut in the starting lineup for the first team in La Liga match against Real Betis, which ended in a 4-2 victory.
